Use pylikwid in pystencils

I think it would be a good idea to use pylikwid in pystencils. In that way pystencils could make sure, that memory allocation, initialization, and execution are done on the same process etc.

Especially, when it comes to reliable performance benchmarks, pystencils could highly profit from the pylikwid functionality.

I am not sure what the benefit of using pylikwid is. We do generate C code. For benchmarking in kerncraft we do generate C code with likwid. What usecase do we have to use pylikwid?

Do you mean that we generate code, wrap it into a python function and then test it with pylikwid calls around it? That is probably nice in a jupyter notebook, but you also measure the python wrapper. In any case, not an application, which would force us touse pylikwid. It is basically a user, who import pystencils and pylikwid, nothing inside of pystencils.

This suggestion was maybe done a bit prematurely. I think we can close that issue. I see your point and agree with it.
